MY PURPOSE, MY LIFE, YOUR LIFE

My philosophy in life is simple and clear; I am created by God and for God. I’m having a hard time to describe what philosophy I have for myself. In each day I live, it’s the kind of thought that will never be missing. I didn’t choose this philosophy just because it is also what most people, especially Christians, would tell you. It’s just the idea that has been solidified in my life. It is simply the reason, my purpose, why I exist and still existing in this world.
When I accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, my perspective on how to live life has become vivid. Well, it’s easy to do different things when we don’t think of the consequences ahead of us. But when change came into my life, I’ve become more confident of what I am doing. Every day, I must be vigilant with the words that comes out from my mouth, what I am look at, what I am doing and even what I am thinking of. Setting Christ as an example of how to live a life worth living isn’t simple. For several times I have failed to follow my own philosophy in life. Many times I have failed to fulfill my purpose in life. It’s very hard to stand for what we believe in. I remember what Christ said that if you want to follow me, u must carry your own Cross. Now that clearly shows it not a simple deal. Though I have failed at times, there are always chances to make up for my mistakes. That is what God wants us to remember. He wants us to realize our purpose. God wants us to know him and make him known to others.
This is my purpose in life. This is what I believe that God has prepared for me. My main purpose is to let YOU and those that will read this that God created YOU not to stumble and fall, but to rise and let His LOVE and GLORY be shown in our loves. For all of us, it’s a matter of choice. We follow what we believe in and we decide for what’s right for us. What is important is to live our life worth living. For me, the only worth living is to live a life for the one who gave me life and gave his life for me. It is not easy to die for others, but I think its rightful to give what we have for the ONE who gave you life now and for forever.

Conflicting Ideas

Don Paeng and Lupe are in a tight situation where couples at present are experiencing. Conflicts arising from different views, opinions, practices and traditions; are part of the struggles in our society. It depicts the differences we have in our society and even in our own personal views. I, myself have my own personally belief and outlook in life. It may be similar or different from the other point of view. The thing here is that we can’t please everyone and all of us must adjust to the circumstances we are at.
Set in the 1920s, the film "Tatarin" showed conflicts between men and women. There was inequality between the sexes. Like when Lupe wants to do something, she must have the approval of Don Paeng. Men were superior over women. Lupe then became dissatisfied with how her relationship with Paeng was going. She began to find her own relief and disobeyed Paeng. Similar to our present time, women want equally rights and opportunities with men. They want to experience freedom and be able to feel being respected at the same time adored. There exist also a conflict between beliefs of Catholics and Pagans when the men celebrated St. John the Baptist's festival and the women had their Pagan Ritual called “Tatarin”. Don Paeng showed his dislike for such act and he thought of it as a ritual for “indios”. He showed there his strong stand on his belief which each one of us should have. We must stand firm in what we believe in and let nothing influence us that contradicts our faith and belief in life.
What we can get from the conflicts raised in the film is that we must be open-minded and critical in our action and decisions in life. We must learn not to be pulled down by our pride and establish a good relationship, not just with those that are close to us, but also to those who surround us. A lot have changed and developed over time, including practices and belief. We must understand that everyone has his own rights and can fight for what he believes in, without anyone to prevent him from doing so. It’s not the society that must dictate what we should become, but it’s our own preference to establish ourselves as to who we want to be.
